Mimoza Salad
Mimoza Salad
In the realm of salads, my choice to begin with is Mimoza. While not the reigning champion of Balkan celebrations, it enjoys significant popularity, likely holding the second spot.
This versatile salad can take the spotlight as a main course or play a supporting role as a side dish. Mimoza pairs excellently with the Imperial Pie, a dish I previously discussed.
When it comes to this salad, trust me, the result outweighs the effort, time, and money involved!
Prep Time: 40 - 60 minutes
Level: Easy
Servings: 4 people

4 eggs
200 g of Gouda cheese or any other hard cheese as desired

4 carrots
200 g of ham

1. Boil the potatoes together with the skin Eggs should also be put to boil
2. Clean the carrots and cook them in pieces

4. Make salad dressing by mixing sour cream and mayonnaise. Salt and season to taste.
5. Take a large bowl and cover the bottom with a layer of mayonnaise and sour cream.
6. Cover the topping with grated potatoes, which you cleaned beforehand and sprinkle with salt
6. Coat the potatoes with a mixture of mayonnaise and sour cream
7. Apply the ham over the dressing in a thin layer
8. The next layer is cheese and then carrot
9. Pour the dressing again
10. Repeat the order of the ingredients until you use them up and finally grate the eggs on top
The mimosa is now ready to serve!
Cooking tip: If you want your salad to look like a cake, then take a flat tray with a diameter of 26-28 cm and place a frame for a 24 cm cake mold on it, or you can arrange the ingredients in a tray.
Arrange everything as described. Cover with cling film and leave to cool and set well. The next day, carefully remove the frame of the mold and you have the cake already stacked on the tray. When it is well cooled and standing, it can be easily cut with a knife like a cake, and the pieces will not fall apart when you transfer them to the plates.
Bon appetit!
